When should I rekey?
After moving, lost or stolen keys, a roommate or relationship change, employee turnover, or when planning a master key system. Worn or sticking hardware should be assessed before deciding whether rekeying alone is appropriate.
Rekey or replace?
Rekeying changes the internal key combination while retaining suitable working hardware. Replacement may be appropriate for damage, failing mechanisms, a security upgrade, a different style or a smart-lock conversion.
Can several locks use one key?
Compatible locks may be rekeyed to one key. Different or proprietary key systems may not be compatible. Master key systems can provide different access levels where the hardware permits.
How does the service work?
We remove the cylinder, replace the appropriate pins and springs, test the new key configuration, reinstall the cylinder and verify operation. Work duration depends on lock type, condition and quantity.
What keys are included?
Our current service information states that we typically provide two to three new keys per lock. Confirm the key quantity for your job; additional copies may carry an extra charge.
What will the visit cost?
